Laser Tracker II inspects high precision part on machine

Application:
The API Laser Tracker II quickly measures large parts on machine improving production efficiency and part quality. A leading machine shop required precision measurements of a large precision cam (over 0.4meters diameter) used on for a currency engraving press for the government of the Peoples Republic of China. The required accuracy for the cam is better than 10 microns. The Tracker II with MeasurePro was able to provide the part results rapidly and to specification in less than 30 minutes. Using the tracker for this critical measurement eliminated the need to remove the cam from the machine tool for inspection saving critical production time thereby improving production throughput by over 200%.
